The use of a Universal adhesive is experienced by the clinician.

Hands-on experience will be completed on specially designed models and will include 1). Cementation of an onlay, 2). Cementation of a fiber post with a cuspal build-up, 3). Place a bonded fissure sealant, 4). Anterior layering technique – a different approach.

    Prof Herman Bernitz is an extraordinary Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillo-Facial Pathology, University of Pretoria. He completed his B.Ch.D in 1978, his M.Sc. (Odont) cum laude in Oral Pathology in 1996, his Dip. Odont. cum laude in Forensic Odontology in 1998 and his doctoral degree (Ph.D) in 2004. He was the International President of IOFOS from 2005 to 2011. Since 1998 he has acted as forensic consultant during which time he has been involved in all aspects of Forensic Dentistry. He has acted as expert witness in the Johannesburg, Pretoria, Kimberly and Grahamstown High courts as well as other courts around South Africa in cases related to forensic dentistry. He has led and participated in DVI (Disaster Victim Identification) missions to Western, Central and Southern Africa. He has lectured extensively on five continents on forensic odontology related subjects. He has published 74 scientific papers and contributed 5 book chapters including the chapter on bite mark analysis for the Encyclopaedia of Forensic and Legal medicine and the new forensic IOFOS textbook.

    The Practice’s business model was a “hybrid model” , including Private patients , Medical Aid patients using concept of Balance Billing .

    Dr Erasmus was SADA President for 4 years , and then a Director on SADA Board. He was Chairman of the Dental Practice Committee for almost 10 years.
    He always had a keen interest in Dental Practice Management and optimising the use of effective Practice Management Software.

    He was also very much involved in the RVU Committee , and reviewing the Sada Coding and Guidelines.

Completing multitude cases over a period of time, just amazes how teeth in good positions forms the cornerstone of Dental health in more than one aspect. The last 3 yrs dedicated to using the Plus system and seeing extreme results. Other interests : - Use of different laser wavelengths in dentistry - Minimally invasive restoration of the worn dentition, using orthodontics and CAD CAM - CBCT imaging and interpretation to improve treatment outcomes - Placing of Dental implants and restoring them - Training and equipping colleagues in using integrated technology Jacques Ferreira the human being Married to Renske since 2003 with 2 children, Aneske (17) and Hugo (15) Great speculation that I have some relation to the dog breeds when it comes to chasing rounded objects (Ball). I love to play golf, cricket, squash, tennis, ect. The last few years the focus shifted to MTB in stage events and extreme endurance events (360 0ne x 2, Comrades). More recently I started running and completed a Comrades and a few other marathons so far. I enjoy a bit of fly fishing if the opportunity presents itself.

    Prof Riaan Mulder qualified in 2007 as a Dentist and received his Masters in Restorative Dentistry in 2014 and PhD in Paediatric Dentistry in 2019 with a special focus of the dissertation on Glass Ionomers as a restorative biomaterial.
    He works as a private practitioner every week in Special Care, Paediatric and Geriatric Dentistry. He is a full-time employee at the University of the Western Cape as an Associate Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics. As a top researcher, he has been awarded multiple prizes and research funding grants over the years. Prof Mulder has 55 national and international publication works available for download on Research Gate. The bulk of the research focuses on Dental Materials and Ethics. Prof Mulder is the only rated researcher at the Faculty of Dentistry - University of the Western Cape by the National Research Foundation of South Africa. He has dental device patents in South Africa and the United Kingdom. He lectures to the Dental fraternity locally and internationally and is a peer reviewer for Elsevier, Wiley, Nature, MDPI and SADJ.

    Dr Mulder van Staden qualified as a dentist in 2008 (US/UWC). After a number of years in private practice as a general dental practitioner, she completed her training as a Specialist in Oral Medicine and Periodontics (Periodontist) at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) in 2017.
    Dr Mulder van Staden is currently involved in training postgraduate students at UWC and treating patients in private practice.
    Dr Mulder van Staden teaches and provides hands-on training in the fields of Oral Medicine, Periodontics and Implantology. She is a module co-ordinator for the MDS Specialization Program in Oral Medicine and Periodontics (registrars), as well as the PDD program in Implantology at UWC.
    Dr Mulder van Staden has been an active member of numerous dental committees in South Africa – namely Western Cape Branch of the South African Dental Association (SADA 2009 -2015); Executive Committee of SASPIO (South African Society of Periodontology, Implantology and Oral Medicine 2018 – 2020; 2023 to date). She is also an ITI Fellow, WIN Ambassador, ITI EXCO Committee Member (2023 to date), UWC ITI (International Team for Implantology) Study Club Director (2023 to date).
    She is active in research, reviewing and publishing numerous articles in local and international journals. She (together with her husband, Dr Riaan Mulder) currently hold a South African and United Kingdom patent for a novel Dental Aerosol Suction Device (DASD), designed to improve the elimination of aerosols produced during dental procedures.
    Dr Mulder van Staden believes in the importance of practicing evidence-based dentistry. She ensures she remains up to date with current international trends and practices by attending local and international congresses.
    Dr Mulder van Staden recognises the importance of sharing knowledge with colleagues of all aspects of the dental fraternity. She has been a lecturer on numerous platforms – such as SADA, SASPIO, OHASA, SAAO and the ITI. She has also been interviewed on the radio and contributed to publications in Die Burger.
    Dr Mulder van Staden is also very passionate about animals and her patients are not always limited to humans. She has assisted the local vet with dental treatment on dogs. She has even performed periodontal surgery and bone grafting on her own Yorkshire terrier. Together with her husband, their latest animal adventure involved the pro-bono treatment of chimpanzees at the Jane Goodall Chimpanzee Sanctuary (Mpumalanga) in 2018. Here they screened chimpanzees, performed dental extractions and fillings as required. They were also able to organize dental materials and dental instrument sponsorships (from 3M South Africa and Access Dental) for the sanctuary for continued treatment of these animals.

She completed her Bachelor of Dentistry in 2009 at the University of Pretoria where she received the Billy Wiltshire Award (2009) – Best Clinical Orthodontic student. She then completed her Postgraduate Dental Diploma in Orthodontics Cum Laude (2011) at the University of the
    Western Cape. In 2015 she got accepted to obtain her Master of Science in Orthodontics at the University of Manitoba where she qualified Cum Laude (2018) and got nominated for the Charley Schultz Scholar Award in research. She is a Fellow-Elect of The Royal College of Dentists of Canada and American Board of Orthodontics. She has been practicing Orthodontics since 2018 and worked in Canada for 5 years. Her field of interest and expertise is early intervention and removable Orthodontics. In her spare time she loves spending time with her loved ones especially her almost 3 year old son and partner. Her hobbies include gym, hiking, watching movies and a good game of rugby or European soccer.
