    Dr Adell Naidoo qualified in 2005 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of
    the Western Cape. While completing her community service in 2006, she offered her professional
    services to the underprivileged children by volunteering at The Wentworth Foundation.
    In 2007, she began practicing general dentistry in the private sector, and in the same year qualified
    with a Postgraduate Diploma in Dentistry. Spending several years in private practice, she developed
    a passion for Prosthodontics and went on to complete a Master of Dental Surgery Degree in
    Prosthodontics, in July 2023, at The University of the Western Cape.
    Dr Adell is committed to staying at the forefront of innovative technologies in Prosthodontics.
    Alongside private practice, she remains affiliated with the University of the Western Cape where
    she serves as a sessional consultant and lectures to postgraduate students.
    She has in recent years been named co-winner of the ITI Southern Africa Poster Competition. She
    was also a finalist at the South African Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (SAAAD) Battle of the
    Speakers (2019).
    Dr Adell often lectures at local study clubs, national congresses and recently presented
    internationally at The International College of Prosthodontists (ICP) Conference in Shanghai, China
    (2023).
    She is a member of the Academy of Prosthodontics; South Africa (APSA), where she serves as the
    Vice-President, The International College of Prosthodontists (ICP) and The International Team of
    Implantology (ITI), where she serves as a Study Club Director and on the Scientific Committee.

    Julie is a paediatric focussed dentist working in private practice in Blaauwberg. She qualified at the University of the Western Cape in 2020 and completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Endodontics in 2023 and is currently doing her Masters in Paediatric Dentistry, both at the University of the Western Cape. She is the secretary for the South African Association of Paediatric Dentistry, a member of the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry, and on the Local Organising Committee for their International Congress in 2025 in Cape Town. When she’s not doing something dentistry related, she’s spending time with her 2 children.

    Dr Corné Smith is at the forefront of new techniques in South Africa. After qualifying in 2005, she obtained a postgraduate diploma in Aesthetic Dentistry and Orthodontics and has since completed several national and international accredited courses.

    Eleven years after founding Smith and van Lierop Dentistry, Dr Smith has grown the practice into a large, multidisciplinary clinic. In 2019, it officially became Smith and van Lierop — Advanced Restorative Dentistry, with Dr Jean van Lierop joining the practice as a partner.

    Dr Smith is a recognised leader and prominent educator in dental aesthetics. A past president of the South African Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry, she has lectured nationally and internationally. She also co-founded The Bridge Program to support newly qualified dentists.

    Madeleen van der Merwe is a passionate entrepreneur with deep roots in Aranos, a small town in Namibia. She graduated from the Isa Carstens Health and Skincare Academy in Stellenbosch and furthered her studies at the Fashion-Photography Hair and Make-Up Artistry Institute in Cape Town.
    Her entrepreneurial journey began in 2004 with a small bridal makeup service run from her hostel room, which soon grew into a thriving treatment hub. Along the way, she gained industry experience working in television—doing hair and makeup for the MNET series “KNOWN GODS”—and lecturing at the Stellenbosch International Photography School. What started as a one-woman operation evolved into an award-winning business, recognized as one of the best in South Africa.
    With over 20 years of experience in the beauty and wellness industry, Madeleen is passionate about sharing the lessons, habits, and insights she has gained along the way. She is dedicated to connecting, inspiring, and empowering others, using makeup and hairstyling as a vehicle to help individuals present themselves with confidence and approach life with hope, excitement, and anticipation.

    Dr Petrie van der Merwe grew up in the small Karoo town, De Aar. He had the privilege to enjoy farm life and learn the values of community, respect and hospitality.

    During his childhood he developed a keen interest in medicine and serving others, inspired by his grandfather, who was a respected general practitioner in De Aar. He went on to study dentistry at the University of the Western Cape and qualified in 2009. This allowed him to simultaneously pursue his interest in medicine and his love for working with his hands.

    In 2012, Dr van der Merwe got the opportunity to start working in the Maxillofacial and Oral surgery department of Pelonomi hospital in Bloemfontein. During this period he completed numerous courses and workshops, including a postgraduate Diploma in Oral Surgery at the University of the Western Cape in 2014.

    Prior to his specialist training, Dr van der Merwe also worked as a medical officer in the Maxillofacial and Oral surgery department at the University of Pretoria where he was involved with postgraduate academic activities and clinical teaching of undergraduate students.

    In 2016 he started his specialist training at the University of Pretoria. With an urge and passion to understand and treat his patients holistically, he opted to do the integrated course and obtained his MBChB in 2022 at the University of Pretoria.

    He obtained his MChD (ChirMaxFac-Med) degree in 2023 at the University of Pretoria and completed his fellowship examinations at the College of Maxillofacial and Oral Surgeons of South Africa (FCMFOS)(SA).

    During his specialist training he developed a keen interest in Head and Neck Oncology surgery, Orthognathic surgery and Implantology. Furthermore, he has published his Master’s research in an international peer- reviewed journal.

    During his spare time, Dr van der Merwe cherishes time spent with his family and takes opportunity to explore the outdoors with a keen interest in golf and hunting.
