Maciej Zarow graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry, Medical University of Semmelweis in Budapest, Hungary (1995). In 2003, he defended with honours his doctoral thesis entitled: "Evaluation of indirect composite fillings in the case of significant damage to the posterior teeth". In 2005, he completed his specialization in conservative dentistry with endodontics. 2003-2004 as acting head of the Department). Since 1999, he has been running a Dentist Private Practice in Krakow and the Dentist Postgraduate Courses Center, where he conducts courses in the field of endodontics and aesthetic dentistry. In 2003, he received a scholarship from the International Association of Dental Research for young scientists, under which he was Honorary Visiting Appointment at the Universities of Leeds and Manchester, where he conducted work in the field of adhesive bridges and tooth reconstruction after endodontic treatment. He is the author of over 80 published works. For many years, he has been a lecturer at scientific congresses in Poland and abroad, including postgraduate master programs in Endodontics and Aesthetic Dentistry of the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya in Barcelona. Visiting professor at the University of Chieti (Italy). In the years 2012-2016, editor-in-chief of the journal Medycyna Praktyczna Dentistry. Member of the scientific board of the following journals: Stomatology Edu Journal, Endodontology, Official publication of the Indian Endodontic Society (IES), Medical Tribune Dentistry, Endodontics in practice, Dental assistant, Stomatology Magazine (2005-2011). From 2020, editor-in-chief of the Quintessence magazine for dentists. Author of the bestseller for dentists: "Endoprotetyka - a guide for practice" (Wydawnictwo Quintessence Int, 2013) published in Polish, Russian (2014), English (2016), French (2017), Croatian (2017) and Chinese (2019) . In 2020, he published another book entitled " Veneers - Fantasy, Risk, Success" (published in English in 2022). Honorary member of the international research group in the field of restorative dentistry "Style Italiano". Active member of the Polish Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (PASE). Certified member of the European Society of Cosmetic Dentistry (since 2019), member of the board of ESCD and coordinator for international activities. Vincent Fehmer is a Master Dental Technician (MDT), at the Clinic for Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials, Center for Dental and Medicine, University of Geneva, Switzerland (Head: Prof. Dr. I. Sailer) Vincent Fehmer received his dental technical education and degree in Stuttgart, Germany in 2002. Since 2015, Vincent is the dental Technician at the Clinic for Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials in Geneva, Switzerland and runs his own laboratory in Lausanne Switzerland. MDT Fehmer is a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology, an Active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED), and a member of the Oral Design group, the European Association of Dental Technology (EADT) and German Society of Esthetic Dentistry (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Ästhetische Zahnheilkunde, DGÄZ). He is active as speaker at both a national and international Level. Mr. Fehmer has received many awards and has published more than 50 articles in peer reviewed journals within the field of fixed prosthodontics and digital dental technology, contributed to book chapters and co-authored the book "Fixed Restorations “. Also, he serves as Editor in Chief of the QDT Yearbook, as Editor in Chief for the International Journal of Esthetic Dentistry and is a Section Editor for the International Journal of Prosthodontics.

Javier Tapia Guadix was born in 1978 in Madrid, Spain. He finished dental school at the European University of Madrid in 2003. Working then as an associate professor in the prosthetics department in 2004. In 2005 he started his career as a professional computer graphics artist, focused on illustration, animation, and application development. He received the Collegiate Merit Award from the Spanish College of Dentists from the 1st Region in 2005, for his collaboration in the commission of new technologies. In 2011 he founded the together with Panaghiotis Bazos and Gianfranco Politano the Bio-Emulation group. He actively collaborates as an invited professor with several universities across Europe and is a member of the GC Restorative Advisory Board. In 2017 he became an official reviewer for the International Journal of Esthetic Dentistry. Javier works in private practice in Madrid, focused on restorative dentistry and aesthetics. He is an international lecturer with participation in more than 300 congresses, hands-on courses, and live courses. He published several articles on restorative dentistry, dental photography, and computers in dentistry.

Colin qualified as a dentist in 1994 and gained experience as a junior in Head and Neck Surgery prior to entering practice and becoming a Specialist in Oral Surgery.

He placed his first dental implant in 1998 and since then has placed over 6,000 dental implants and carried out more than 10,000 other surgical procedures.

In 2013 he founded The Campbell Clinic and The Campbell Academy in Nottingham to provide multi-disciplinary Specialist dental care and dental education.

In 2020 the clinic moved to a purpose-built 7,000ft² facility providing exceptional dentistry and education, together with a research component.

Colin’s clinical interests include sinus grafting, anterior aesthetic implant placement, and all aspects of bone augmentation in implant surgery.

The clinic’s research interests include aesthetic implant dentistry, full arch reconstruction, and patient quality of life outcomes, together with many other topics including antibiotic prescription.

Dr Daniel Ramos completed his graduation in Dentistry at PUCRS, Porto Alegre- Brazil, in the year in 1999, when he immediately began his post-graduation in Orthodontics, receiving the MsD title in 2002. Dividing his time between academic life and his private clinic in Porto Alegre, Dr. Ramos always kept up to date on the various techniques, innovations, and technologies that arose in orthodontics. With a focused approach to providing a better experience to his customers, Dr. Ramos has gradually increased the use of aligners in his office. Besides the private practice, Dr. Ramos also is Adjunct Faculty in 2 universities in Brazil (IMED-POA and Rede IOA) and Guest Faculty at iHDS Houston-USA. Dr. Ramos is the Clinical Director of Propel Orthodontics in Brazil and is responsible for spreading the concept of accelerated and digital orthodontics in his country, using Propel technology in almost 100% of his aligner cases since 2016. He is also responsible for the training of new users of the Propel method in Brazil. As an international speaker, Dr. Ramos already presented lectures in several countries such as the USA, Mexico, Portugal, and Spain. Since 2018 Dr. Ramos is also working as the orthodontist at Well Clinic (Coachman Family private practice - DSD founders), one of the most important interdisciplinary dental clinics, where the concept of digital smile design (DSD) was created. Since the end of 2019, Dr. Ramos is the DSD Planning Center Orthodontics Clinical Manager where he provides Treatment Planning services for doctors all over the world.

Figen Seymen graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry, Istanbul University, Turkey, and obtained a PhD degree and MSc degree from the same University and became a Professor of Pediatric Dentistry at Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry in 2002. She has more than 33 years of experience in Academics in all aspects of dental education, didactic, clinical/patient care, and research mentoring for both MS and PhD students. She has lectured as an invited speaker and has participated in many presentations in congresses and continuous education courses. She is a member of various International Scientific Societies and Associations. Between 2014 and 2017 she was the head of the Department of Paediatric Dentistry in Istanbul University. In 2014 she was elected as President of the Turkish Society of Paediatric Dentistry and still she is continuing to serve as the President. She served as President of the Association of Mediterranean Societies of Pediatric Dentistry between 2014-2018 and still serves as a member of the Board of Directors. She was Councillor of the European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry (EAPD) between 2012-2018 and then held the following position: a member of the Credentials Committee. She served as a member of the Membership Committee of IAPD between 2017-2019. She began to serve as a Board member of the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry (IAPD) in 2019 and held the position of Chair of the Education Committee and Representative of the Nations between 2019 to 2021. She was elected as President-Elect of IAPD in 2021. She is on the Advisory Board and Editorial Board of several international and national journals and published over 200 research papers-articles and co-authored in several book chapters and obtained research grants. Prof Dr Figen Seymen has been working in all fields of pediatric and preventive dentistry, and especially enamel anomalies, dental anomalies, genetics, syndromes and aesthetic treatments of tooth anomalies are among her special interests. She worked at Istanbul University Paediatric Dentistry from 1987-2022. In February 2022 she was appointed Chair and Program Director at the Department of Pediatric Dentistry of Altınbas University.

It all started when Brent Lindeque, a young South African, turned the reckless drinking game Neknominations on its head – by using his nomination to instead perform a random act of kindness. One student did a PhD in sedation. Haly Holmes is a certified periodontist who practices her clinical specialty as a staff member in the Department of Oral Medicine and Periodontology Department  (OMP) at the University of the Western Cape Dental Faculty. Haly’s exposure to the oral medicine clinics highlighted the increasing unmet challenges that oral pathologies pose on the African continent, particularly with regard to the need for early detection, understanding of the pathophysiology, and risk stratification.  Thus, her research interest includes all aspects of oral medicine, employing a wide range of approaches from molecular to population-based research, in efforts to improve the understanding of the pathobiology, diagnostics, and therapeutics of oral soft tissue pathologies.  To this end, she has initiated the establishment of an oral medicine registry (ORMSA) to establish oral soft tissue lesions prevalence and trends.  In addition, she is the PI of a newly-established working group to develop a saliva biorepository to determine the potential role of salivary biochemistry parameters and OMIC signatures (genomics, lipidomics, proteomics, etc) on the African continent. She is currently registered for a PhD in the Department of Oral Pathology to establish the HPV-related oral cancer disease burden in South Africa with the anticipation of increasing the evidence base for formulating diagnostic guidelines and recommendations for disease surveillance.

Amir Afrogheh is the Acting Head of Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) and the National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS). He is also an extraordinary lecturer at the University of Stellenbosch (US), division of Anatomical Pathology. Amir holds a fellowship from Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital in Head and Neck Pathology. He is an international fellow of the College of American Pathologists, and a member of the Endocrine Pathology Society. He has been a regular invited speaker at major national and international pathology meetings. Amir is the editor of the Head and Neck Pathology Journal, and has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers in reputed international journals and conferences and has authored several chapters in pathology text books. Thyroid/oral cytopathology, HPV-induced cancers of the head and neck, molecular pathogenesis of adenoid cystic carcinoma are his main areas of research interest. In recognition of his work, he has received numerous awards and prizes, including International Academy of Pathology ROC Kaschula award, best early career research award (UWC), and the US best research award. He was one of five cancer researchers nominated for the prestigious Oettlé Memorial Award of the Cancer Association of South Africa in 2019. Aside from his more scholarly pursuits, Amir enjoys classical music, ancient studies and literature.

She has furthered her studies and is registered at the HPCSA as an Oral Hygienist in Independent Private Practice. Angelique Kearney is the past Gauteng Branch Chair and the President of OHASA (Oral Hygienist`s Association of South Africa) and is currently a part-time lecturer and supervisor for the BOHSc students at Wits (University of the Witwatersrand). She has a passion for teaching and her profession and is busy with a part-time masters diploma in Health Science Education. Rutendo Kudenga is originally from Zimbabwe and qualified as a dentist in 2015 at the University of Pretoria. She then went to do her community service in Springbok, a small town close to the Namibian border. After that, she worked in private practice for 6 years. In 2021, she joined the Department of Odontology at the University of Pretoria as a full-time lecturer. Dr Kudenga has a postgraduate diploma in endodontics from the University of Pretoria and a Master’s in Global Public Health from the Queen Mary University of London. Dr Kudenga is passionate about implementing change in the public health system to ensure health equity. Her interests include both prevention and health policy .

Dr Mfolo qualified as a dentist in 2006 at the University of the Western Cape and completed her community service in Potchefstroom. She worked in private practice from 2008 and joined the Department of Odontology at the University of Pretoria (UP) as a full-time lecturer in 2010. Dr Mfolo was extensively involved in the clinical supervision, teaching, and training of undergraduate students in dental materials, paediatric dentistry, endodontics, and basic restorative dentistry. She was also a guest lecturer for postgraduate programs in Paediatric Dentistry and Aesthetic Dentistry. Dr Mfolo obtained a postgraduate diploma in Aesthetic Dentistry and also in Community Dentistry from UP. She joined the Department of Community Dentistry in 2015 where she co-ordinated the preventive dentistry modules and various outreach projects. She is currently enrolled as a registrar in the Department of Community Dentistry at UP. Dr Mfolo’s research interest is in maternal and child oral health advocacy. She completed her MSc program with her dissertation focussed on Early Childhood Caries (ECC) and maternal oral health. She represented South Africa at the first Global ECC Summit (2018) in Bangkok and she is the South African Representative of Nations at the Early Childhood Caries Advocacy Group. Dr Mfolo is currently the Vice-President of the South African Association of Paediatric Dentistry and an active member of the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry (IAPD) where she serves on the IAPD Awards Committee. Dr Mfolo has chaired sessions, adjudicated, and presented at local and international conferences. She also has a keen interest in Minimum Intervention Dentistry (MID) and has presented on Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) on various platforms like the IAPD and Global Symposium on MID. In line with her interest in SDF, Dr Mfolo co-authored an article on SDF with world-renowned researchers-Global oral health policies and guidelines: using SDF for caries control.

Mpho Molete is a Community Dentistry Specialist who holds a PhD in Public Health from the University of the Witwatersrand. She has years of experience as a dental practitioner both in the UK and South Africa and is now currently in full-time academia as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Community Dentistry at the Wits School of Oral Health Sciences. In addition, she is an Adjunct Fellow at the Australian Centre for Integration of Oral Health, Western Sydney University. Her work involves, undergraduate and post-graduate teaching, supervision, research, and, clinical service delivery. She co-chairs the Wits-Gauteng Liaison Committee and sits in the Gauteng Oral Health Strategy Steering Committee. She has published in both a local and an international journal and has been a recipient of the CARTA fellowship and NRF Thuthuka awards. Her research interest includes child oral health, implementation science, monitoring, and evaluating oral health policies and programs.

Sudeshni Naidoo is an Emeritus Professor and Dental Public Health Specialist at the University of the Western Cape. She is also the Director of the UWC WHO Collaborating Centre for Oral Health. She received her BDS (Lon) and LDS.RCS (Eng) and Masters in Dental Public Health (MDPH) at the University of London and the Diploma in Dental Public Health (DDPH) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, followed by her specialist MChD degree in Community Dentistry. She successfully completed the Diploma in International Research Ethics at the University of Cape Town and in 2013 was awarded a DSc degree from the University of the Western Cape. She is involved mainly with post-graduate education and training and her focus of research is on Infectious Diseases and Infection Control; Trauma and Child Abuse; Using Information Technology for mHealth; Ethics, Bioethics, and Research Ethics. She has written Ethics, Research Ethics, HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis B vaccination policies, and published and presented on HIV/AIDS, Child Abuse, Cross Infection, Hepatitis, and Ethics. Professor Naidoo has presented numerous scientific papers of her research at international conferences and has been an invited, keynote speaker, nationally and internationally on several occasions. She spent many years on the Medical and Dental Professional Board of the Health Professions Council of South Africa, is a Past President of the SA Division of the International Association of Dental Research (IADR), current President of the International Dental Ethics and Law Society (IDEALS) and member of the Preliminary Committee of Inquiry at the Health Professions Council of South Africa.

Professor Mbulaheni Simon Nemutandani is the President of the Health Professions Council of South Africa. He is also the President of the Association of Medical Councils of Africa and the Chairperson of the Association of Deans of Dental Schools in Africa.

He qualified as a dentist from the University of Western Cape almost 30 years ago. He holds three master’s degrees in public health (University of Venda), a master of science in medicine and specialist in community dentistry (University of Witwatersrand), and a PhD in Public Health from the University of Pretoria. His research interests are health systems, policy and traditional medicine, and HIV.

He explored a decolonisation model for collaboration between indigenous and western trained health providers in post-colonial South Africa. In his role as a policy and pubic oral health specialist, he has been instrumental in developing the South African Oral Health Policy, providing advises on oral health matters to governments in Africa.

Dr Ramphoma qualified as a Specialist in Community Dentistry in 2014, from the University of the Western Cape, South Africa. In 2021, she joined the University of the Western Cape, Faculty of Dentistry as a Senior Lecturer and Specialist in Community Dentistry/Dental Public Health. Her academic career spans over 12 years of teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students in dental, medical, and allied health programs. Prior to joining UWC in 2021, she was at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University, School of Oral Health Sciences, and University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, School of Nursing and Public Health respectively. Over the years, she has developed a passion for teaching and learning, and a keen interest in contributing to the higher education of health professions students. She has supervised and graduated with several postgraduate diplomae and master’s students in community dentistry and public health in the past few years. She is a member of several organizations such as the Public Oral Health Forum, and the Public Health Association of South Africa (PHASA) as the current chair of the Dental Public Health Special Interest Group. She currently represents South Africa on the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA) under the Oral Health Work Group whose purpose is to promote and integrate oral health, whenever appropriate, in all public health policies within the WFPHA and its member organizations. She is also a volunteer dentist for Doctors for Life, Aid to Africa, and Tshemba Foundation for outreach programs both in South Africa and other African countries. Her research work contributes to the field of epidemiology, and integration of oral health in general health, particularly maternal and child oral health initiatives through policy and health systems. She has published in both national and international peer-reviewed journals and she is a reviewer for several local journals including the Journal of Interdisciplinary Health Sciences, Health SA Gesondheid, African Journal of Primary Health Care and Family Medicine, and the South African Dental Journal. She has presented extensively locally and internationally, and she plans to pursue a PhD in global oral health in the very near future.

Dr Jonathan du Toit completed his dentistry studies at UWC, followed by a postgraduate diploma in oral surgery from the College of Maxillofacial and Surgeons of South Africa, a diploma in implantology from the Implant and the Aesthetic Academy/University of Frankfurt, and a Master’s degree from Wits. Dr du Toit completed his specialist training at the University of Pretoria in periodontics and oral medicine, whilst at the same time completing a PhD from Szeged University in Hungary. Dr du Toit is the first in 10 yrs to earn a Fellowship in Oral Medicine and Periodontology from the College of Dentistry of South Africa. He is the past SASPIO vice president - of the South African Society for Periodontology, Implantology, and Oral Medicine, as well as a current council member for the College of Dentistry of South Africa. Dr du Toit has to date published 32 peer-reviewed journal publications, and 4 textbook chapters. Being active in research, Dr du Toit has published in, reviews for, or is on the editorial board for The International Journal of Esthetic Dentistry, Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research, Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, Journal of Oral Implantology, to name a few. Dr du Toit has had frequent lecture invitations, both local and international. His current main focus and passion is the upliftment and post-qualifying education of young dentists and dental professionals in South Africa, as director of NEXUS Dental.
